Documentary photography is increasingly becoming my main focus. My interest was sparked by the reaction to George Floyd's murder in May of 2020. Since then, Minneapolis has undergone radical change and it was important to me that this time period was documented. Since then, I've taken photos at several events in the Twin Cities Metro area, from the Twin Cities Marathon in 2022 to the Songkran Thai Festival in 2023 as well as the 2023 Stone Arch Bridge Festival.

Minnesota Vikings Vs. Green Bay Packers — Season Opener 2022

In Downtown Minneapolis, the US Bank Stadium towers over the nearby park, officially called "The Commons". It's here, in this park, where Vikings fans gather before home games. Tents with refreshments, food trucks, and local performers gather to foster a positive environment on game days. This year, the football season opened with a highly anticipated match—the Minnesota Vikings versus the Green Bay Packers. The season opener was celebrated with a kickoff concert and fans of all ages rocked out to music performed by Mitchell Tenpenny and Hailey Whitters.

Twin Cities Marathon 2022

The starting line for the Twin Cities Marathon lies in the center of Downtown Minneapolis, close to US Bank Stadium. This year the Marathon was packed, with hundreds of runners traveling to the Twin Cities to participate. This was the 40th year of the marathon. Participants would run through Downtown Minneapolis, around the lakes, along the Mississippi River, and end in St. Paul near the State Capitol.

Hackensack, Minnesota — Chainsaw Festival 2022

Up in northern Minnesota, a small town called Hackensack has its annual Chainsaw Festival at the end of September. It's here where hundreds of people gather for a weekend filled with fun events like an axe-throwing competition, quick carves—where chainsaw artists have a limited amount of time to complete a sculpture—community dinners at the local fire department, silent auctions, and much more. The weekend culminates in a live auction where wooden sculptures are sold for as little as $300 and as much as $4,000.
